That was the trailer for Living in Emergency: Stories of Doctors Without Borders. Just watched it yesterday and it was definitely an eye-opener.
As young and idealistic souls, some of us may yearn to join the frontline and provide humanitarian aid and assistance, hoping to change the world. Few of us though, tend to realize the hardship and possible emotional trauma that comes with frontline duty. Seeing people with gunshot wounds through the head and chest – that's something that few of us, if ever, will encounter and will most certainly be a traumatic moment.
Moral of the story? Think twice about your motivations and whether you can really commit yourself to humanitarian work.
